Venetian Marina's Christmas Newsletter

We would like to thank you for your continued support and co-operation throughout 2012.

Refurbishment update

We will be continuing the refurbishment work of the marina in the spring/summer of 2013. Once the refurbishment work has been completed we will then be installing electricity and water on all of the new piers. Electricity will be provided and charged by remote metering (each socket from office).

We will be constructing new offices, toilet/shower block and laundry area in part of the chandlery building. We are hoping to start work in January. Once opened, we will then close off the toilet and shower block in the moorer’s car park, and toilets located under the walk way near the office.

We are talking to a number of chandlery operators and are hope to have a new business open for next year. We are also refurbishing the kitchen in the café and hope to have a new business open by next spring.

For more information or to follow the progress on our plans so far take a look at our website.

Narrowboat Sales

We would like to welcome Zoe Sandland who has joined us on narrowboat sales at the beginning of November. Zoe has a background in the motor and narrowboat industry and previously managed Swanley Brokerage. Do pop in for a chat if you have the time.

Due to the success of our narrow boat sales we will be continuing our Brokerage offer of 4% plus VAT (minimum charge of £1,000 plus VAT). Please do give David or Zoe a call if you are looking to sell your narrowboat on 01270 528251.   Take a look at our 4% narrowboat brokerage fee web page for more information.

Moorings

Fom the 1st April 2013 we will be altering the way in which we collect mooring payments. All of our permanent mooring customers will be charged for a minimum period of a quarter (3 months) due in advance on the first day of the quarter. There are a number of ways you can pay including direct debit, visa machine now installed in the office, and payment can be taken by phone, cash and cheque. For those wishing to use their boat as a residential base, please contact the office for details as an additional charge will apply.

To make best use of the pier space available, you may be required to relocate to another mooring on the marina, but we will keep this to an absolute minimum. Next year, during the refurbishment work, we may need to relocate some moorer’s boats to another pier. We apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused, we will try and keep any disruption to a minimum.
2013 Events

On the 14th April 2013 we will be having an open day at Venetian Marina, more details of this will follow in the New Year. Venetian Marina will be exhibiting at next year’s Crick Boat Show (Saturday 25th May to Monday the 27th May 2013) with our sister companies Whilton Marina and Cosgrove Leisure Park. It would be good to see you at our stand if you are attending the show.

And Finally...

Alison and Ken are retiring on the 23rd December this year. They have given a long and loyal service to Venetian Marina. We would like to thank them for their help during the handover transition and wish them well in their retirement.

We would like to wish our customers a Happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year
