Why moor at Venetian Marina?

Restrictions are finally easing from this week which is brilliant news. More people are moving around on the canals and looking for a change in scenery and new place to moor their boats. Or, maybe you have spent hours researching and found the perfect or nearly perfect boat for you and now need somewhere to berth it. I would start is by thinking about where you want to be, what location is right you?

Every marina is different, check them out and see what they offer. Take a look at their canal links and routes. The great thing about a boat is you can move around easily and experience different areas. If you don't like a mooring, move, simples!

I always say a picture speaks a thousand words so I will try not to make this too wordy. Lets take a closer look at what we have to offer you at Venetian Marina.

Venetian is a premier marina situated in the heart of the Cheshire countryside with excellent travel links to the M6 & Crewe train station. Likewise the canal options are also excellent, you are a short cruise away from the Llangollen Canal which is labelled the most picturesque canal on the network. Four Counties Ring & Cheshire Ring are also close by and easily accessible.

We have a moorers only secure car park accessed via a coded barrier. On the carpark you will find our bin enclosure housing a large general waste container & recycling options too plus two ash bins. Benches are located on the grassed areas for your enjoyment.

All of our marina berths are 60ft in length, galvanised & gritted, gone are the days of slippery wooden piers at Venetian! Tying points are located along the whole length of the pier making securing any length of boat easy.

Every berth within the marina has an electric point, but, no worrying about loaded electric on at Venetian as our electric is included within our pricing structure, just plug in. Every pier has lighting and a water point with heat trace fitted around the marina which ensures all around year use.

You can moor with us for a week, month, quarterly or yearly. We do not insist on you giving us cancellation period which gives you better flexibility when mooring at Venetian.

As well as the berths within the marina we also offer a handful of linear moorings situation next to Cholmondeston Lock. These moorings do not offer electric hook up but there is a CRT water point directly opposite. These moorings are very popular and offer a quiet spot with grass verges and lovely views.

With a £10 refundable deposit you can get a key from the marina office to access the moorers only facilities building. His & hers toilets, large corner quadrant showers, laundry machines &  moorers notice board. There is even a book & DVD swap which has been added recently and has proven to be a great success.

Laundry machines are operated by tokens which can be purchased with cash seven days a week from the marina office. We have even added a laundry basket to help you transfer belongings from one machine to the other more easily.

Complimentary Wifi is available around the marina. As we are in a very rural location getting a good signal for modern gadgets can be difficult, which is why we recently upgraded our marina Wifi, fitted new masts and boosters etc.. For those of you who wish to stream TV I would suggest you invest in your own dongle or similar but for those of you wanting to check e-mails and do some light web browsing our Wifi should suffice.

At some point during your boats life it'll need its bottom blacking, this is no problem at Venetian Marina. We have an onsite full time marine engineer for any Boat Safety work or engines services etc and our dry dock is ideal for hull blacking. Speak to the team in the office and explain your requirements, they'll generate you an estimate and once you have confirmed you're happy with the price and wish to proceed you'll be booked into to our engine schedule. We operate on a first come first served basis so bare with us.

It is also worth noting that we do not hire our dry dock out for you to complete work yourself.

To compliment the marina we have three successful independent business on site, Cover & Canvas, Venetian Hireboats & Chandlery and Venetian Tearooms

I think I have covered all of the main mooring points but if you would like to visit, have a walk around the marina & a sneak peek inside our facilities before making a decision please contact the office on 01270 528251 to book an appointment.

Thank you for taking the time to read my blog. Zoe
